Protecting the earth and valuing and conserving biodiversity should not end after a trip to the zoo. Mandai Wildlife Group has a goal—to continue to inspire young and impressionable youth even beyond these short trips. Through ongoing conversations and efforts, the Ranger Buddies programme seeks to nurture and empower children to become responsible stewards of the earth.

We created Pedro the Sea Lion—a character inspired by a real animal in the zoo and brought him to life with 3D animation. We also recreated his home—the ocean bed filled with coral reefs, fishes, rocks, and clams. This clean environment is juxtaposed with trash floating at the top, polluting Pedro’s home. All of these tie into Pedro’s mission to clean up the ocean.
